Recently a new wave of boards or revolving matrix programs are going around the world focusing on travel all claiming to make their members rich.  When reviewing these programs ask the following questions to make sure you have a legitimate business opportunity that won’t leave you embarrassed.

1. Multiple Accounts

If the company allows you purchase multiple accounts you have to ask WHY?

The companies say that you are purchasing access to discounted travel so if ONE purchase allows you to access their travel services WHY would you need to purchase more than ONE account?

When I read the FAQ of the websites for these programs they actually state that you can purchase more accounts to fast track your progress in earning the income available or make more money.  So they are actually stating that the ONLY reason for buying more than one account is make MORE money.  This is a classic indication the program is just a money game and will be frowned upon by the authorities.

In fact many of the leaders in these programs encourage people to purchase packs of 3 or 7 accounts and even when people earn the rewards…. normally less than 3% do earn rewards…. they get people to purchase more accounts.  If someone tells you purchase more than ONE account ask yourself who is that going to benefit….YOU or more than likely the sponsor and upline trying to use you to push them to cycle out.

2.Is the purchase of the product a one off payment?

When you join these programs they will tell you the best part is you only have to pay for the product ONCE and that is a benefit!

The reality is that is a RED FLAG that the owners of the company have a short term mentality!

Why?

Because there is no renewals or ongoing revenue from the same customer which means the only way to continue earning revenue is the recruitment of NEW people.

The other thing is if there is no renewals or ongoing purchases from the same customers it also means there is NO residual income for those promoting the program so your future income is 100% reliant on the introduction of new people.

That type of program is seen by most regulators, the Direct Selling Association and most governments as a classic sign it is a money game and NOT a legitimate Network Marketing opportunity.

3. Who is behind the company?

Does the company tell you who is behind the company?  Do any of the company owners make themselves available at corporate events? Are they visible to their members?  If they are not visible you have to ask WHY?  What do they have to hide?

The reality is they are often the same people who created the last failed program and just reinvented themselves as a new company targeting the same people.  In fact board programs are notorious for this.  The owners know that more than 90% of people end up on a board that is inactive and the people never progress, never earn money and all the unpaid money sitting on the stalled boards is there for the owners to walk away with when the program fails.  This is why boards programs are the popular choice for people with short term mentality

4. Has the company made any efforts to seek legal advice to ensure they are compliant with the various laws of the countries they operate in?

It is more than likely they have not because board programs have been investigated in many countries by the authorities and are classified as pyramid schemes in many cases and attract a lot of negative press.  If a company is not taking a proactive stance to ensure they are legal and compliant then they are simply trying to fly under the radar hoping they won’t get investigated which means the members are just sitting ducks.  Why? Because the authorities can’t find the owners so when the company is investigated the authorities go after the leaders in that country instead.

Do you really want to risk being left carrying the can for the company when things go bad and the owners just hide offshore or focus on other markets!

5.  Do they offer the illusion of massive rewards for minimal effort?

Many of these program offer payments of $15,000 plus when you cycle out but they do not tell you how many thousands will have to lose money for the few to earn that money.  The reality is less than 3% of people cycle out and less than 3% of those that cycle cycle more than once.

One of the latest programs promotes that people can earn cars, luxury villas, boats and even a jet!  If you do the maths there isn’t even enough money to pay out the cycle payments let alone all the cars, planes, boats and homes.  Yet the illusion of just introducing 2 people and ending up with $15,000 and a new jet sounds enticing enough for people all around the world to pay with their $250 USD.

I guess as long as people’s greed exceeds their common sense the scammers behind these programs will continue to create the programs and walk away with millions.

The simple truth is people work 40-60 hours a week to earn a survival income yet believe that just introducing 2 people will make them rich and give them cars, boats, homes and a jet. If the rewards sound unrealistic then it is more than likely a scam.

The new enhanced Rewards Program being released by Holidays and Cash at the end of April, 2009, will have 57% more people earning each week.  It is based on creating a model that sees people earning sooner and more consistently. This is achieve by changing the number of team sales for a cycle from 9 team sales with a 6:3 ratio down to 3 team sales with a 2:1 ratio.

This means every time you have 2 team sales on one side of your team (left or right) and 1 team sale on the other side of your team you be paid a cycle. The value of the cycle will drop accordingly as you have 1/3 of the team sales per cycle but overall the next reduction in all the testing and modelling was not less than 3% for each leader when we ran the tests from the day we started until now.

This also means that every time you personally make 3 sales to earn a Fast Start Bonus you also earn a cycle.  Imagine, now people get to enjoy 2 of the 4 income streams with their first 3 personal sales!

In addition to this good news members will make be able to make more consistent matching income as their personally introduced members earn more consistently. Exciting times are ahead.

Anyone who has created high incomes in the Network Marketing industry will tell you that the optimal way to keep people loyal to the business opportunity your company offers is have them make money!   And the more people that make money the more loyalty and the more activity you create which results in greater residual income.

This change will make a huge impact in the lower socio-economic countries where even a small amount of regular income can dramatically change a person’s life.  This is one of the most exciting developments because Holidays and Cash has a vision of changing the lives of a million people and this is now far more achievable with these new enhancements.

I am talking about spillover!  For those new to binary compensation plans let me create a clearer picture of what I mean.

Binary compensation plans are powerful in that each member only has 2 teams to build, a LEFT and a RIGHT team so every time a member introduces more than 2 people every extra member they introduce MUST be placed under an existing member in either their left or right team.

When someone places a new member under an existing member it creates a team sale not only for the introducer, but also for the member that the new member is placed under.  This is called SPILLOVER!

Your upline typically only place their personal signups down ONE side of your business, which is typically the side that your sponsor placed you into. In other words if your introducer or sponsor, placed you into their LEFT team then the spillover from above you will come under your LEFT team. 

It is your responsability to build the RIGHT team while also contributing to the LEFT team so you end up with a balance of volume between the left and right teams to maximize the income potential. 

Spillover is a great thing however too many people entice people into a binary program based on promises of spillover….promising to build the business for someone.  This attitude only creates laziness and sets people up with a charity mentality. 

You should always have an attitude that your team’s growth starts and ends with you and any spillover from above is a BONUS, but not a guarantee.   Think about it.  In all traditional compensation plans your upline almost NEVER places their personal sales under you.  They build wide placing all their signups on their first level.

When you build your team in a binary plan you will have to build 2 legs, one that receive spillover and one that won’t.  The people who come into your leg that does not receive spillover from your upline will only receive spillover from YOU and the people that you place into that team.

Spillover can result in tens, hundreds, even thousands of members being placed into your team with all those sales being potential income however you must also balance the volume of sales in each leg to captitalise on the spillover.

Holidays and Cash has designed a binary marketing plan that ensures spillover is created for all members and everyone contributes to the spillover.  Let me explain.

To earn a Fast Start Bonus you need to personally introduce 3 sales.  The third sale the person makes will create spillover for one of the first two people you introduce.

To become a Silver qualified leader and earn matching royalty payments of 10% you must personally introduce 6 Bronze qualified members with 3 in each leg.  This means that spillover will be created because every personal sale after your first two will spillover under the first two.  As you progress to Gold and earn matching royalty payments of 20%you must introduce another 2 Bronze members into each leg (total of 4 more) which means 4 more sales spilloved over under your first two sales.

Most importantly, don’t focus on the spillover from above you.  Focus on building your team and creating spillover for your team.  You cannot control your upline’s activity but you can control your own activity.  Remember, your success starts with you and ends with you!

I have been involved in the referral marketing industry for the last 10 years and I have been in many programs during this time covering a variety of different compensation plans.

I have experienced success in some businesses and over the last few years focussed on some of the new generation of board programs. However, although I have earned good money in some of these programs with matrix systems, I have made a decision not to continue with or promote this type of compensation plan for the following reasons:

  • Very few people make money at the expense of a lot of people who enter the program but do not succeed and drop out when they discover that it takes a long time before they can earn any money. This tends to create a very negative view of the company and the opportunity and there are always requests for a refund.
  • There is no regular passive income that is paid out as members only get paid for a cycle off a board. Most people get stuck on the boards and never earn any compensation.
  • Many people are encouraged to take multiple positions in the matrix in order to push their own positions and then find that they are entrenched in the program and are unable to move on due to their huge financial stake in the business. Some people view these programs as an investment and not referral marketing of a product.
  • When the boards split the direct referrals normally move onto a different board which is unpredictable and the sponsor is no longer able to support his team.
  • New members tend to appear on the board and the members are unable to promote teamwork with other members as they may not know who they are as relationship is a very important aspect of success in the referral marketing industry.
  • The principle of follow your leader only applies when members move from one board to the next and not for the interim splits which results in people moving onto different boards in different directions.
    the board systems are unfair as some people who have sponsored large teams may cycle the same number of times as a member who has a small team as the cycle velocity is determined by the work done by the people on the board and not from the work done by the team.
  • People tend to get stuck on boards which are not moving and the program only has a llimited ife span of 3 to 5 years before the members lose motivation when they see that they are not earning commission.
  • Some of the internet based programs do not have a personal face and very little information is available about the company and the management behind it.
  • Funds in some of the internet based wallets are not secure and there have been many people who have lost their commission payments from hackers into their wallet
  • There is no renewal of membership and therefore no way of earning passive residual income. Growth of income is based on growth of membership and not on the re-sale of the product.
